Hello again. This week has been a busy one with lots of walking and getting out and about as the weather has been fine and dry. I’ve been walking about 6 miles a day which has been a good leg stretch for me and the dogs. I can’t hold a lead in my left hand yet so it’s still 1 dog at a time but hey ho that’s fine. I’ve driven my car for the first time post surgery and it’s great to have my independence back again. I went straight to my clinic and contacted everyone from Pilates classes to let people know that the normal class timetable resumes week beginning Monday 15th May. Hooray!
It was just smashing to get back inside my Pilates Studio and Physio treatment room and remember that I have a job and a clinic and clients waiting for me. It will still be a while before I can do any massage or ‘hands on’ treatments but it’s fab to have a start date for classes again. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone so much and get excited every time my phone pings with another booking.
The shoulder seems to have plateaued a bit this week which was to be expected as I’ve made a quick initial recovery. My shoulder hurts a little bit most of the time and when I initiate a movement it hurts a bit more. It hurts to lye on it but not enough to need pain killers. Totally normal for 4 weeks after surgery. That said I’m gradually doing more with it just day to day stuff but it’s the small things that make the difference. Being able to open a jar or a bottle of squash for instance! My physio exercises are going well and range of movement is coming back nicely. I’m looking forward to working on strength a bit more when my pain has settled down over the next week or so. Next week I think I’ll be ready for swimming and maybe some super light weights. Let’s hope so. Keeping on keeping on…
Have a good week y’all!
