At Ullswater Physiotherapy we believe that physical movement and exercise is an essential part of human well being and function. Any comprehensive rehabilitation plan involves movement and exercise of some sort whether the aim is to improve balance, confidence, strength, flexibility, reduce pain or improve blood flow or sensation.
It is quite common for people with injuries or painful problems to stop exercising the area and seek positions of comfort avoiding activity where possible. This is a natural reaction to protect oneself but one which can often leave people frightened to move because of fear of pain or re-injury. Over time this can lead to further problems associated with weakness and stiffness with further pain and restriction. Alternatively, you may be of the ‘no pain = no gain’ variety often the first to get up and moving following an injury or operation and will do every exercise until sore but perhaps more prone to set-backs or re-injury.
At Ullswater Physiotherapy & Sports Injuries Clinic we guide you through your progressive rehab appropriately whilst understanding the everyday pressures people face in returning to fitness, work and sports as soon as possible. We will always give the best evidence-based advice and education regarding management of each individual problem. Mary the Physio has extensive post-graduate education and experience in rehabilitation and exercise and has worked with people with a wide range of injuries, surgery and conditions since 2002.
Put simply, we have the specialist knowledge and a spacious well equipped clinic to rehabilitate people far beyond the private treatment room. We aim to provide the best service we can in as few appointments as possible giving you the highest quality service and best value for money.
