Education and advice is central to our approach and we offer clear and simple explanations to keep you fully informed of the nature of your problem, the prognosis and aims of treatment. At Ullswater Physiotherapy we enjoy taking the time to explain our Physiotherapy and treatment processes. We have many different learning resources including muscular and skeletal anatomy wall charts, models, text books and online resources.
Education and advice forms a very important part of we do at Ullswater Physiotherapy. If a person understands what and why they are doing something then they are much more likely to do it and do it well. Rehabilitation exercises are only effective if they get done frequently and appropriately and so we try to help you to understand the reasons behind the exercises and what to expect whilst doing them. If you have any questions we encourage you to ask them and we’ll always try to answer in an honest and informed way. If we don’t know the answer to a question we’ll go away and try to find out in time for your next follow-up appointment.
Mary the Physio has the extensive academic qualifications and clinical experience to help you to understand what the main problems are and how Physiotherapy and rehabilitation can help you to improve your pain, mobility, strength, performance and overall wellbeing.
If a person is equipped with all the necessary information to carry out effective rehabilitation then this promotes independence; a key aim of Physiotherapy.
